Judge Jeff Brown

Judge Jeff Brown has served as a United States District Judge on Galveston Island since 2019. He brings a record of judicial leadership and a commitment to the fair administration of justice. He spent 18 years in the Texas judiciary, serving six years each on the 55th District Court, the 14th Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Texas.

Judge Brown earned his bachelor's degree in English from the University of Texas before graduating magna cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center. Following law school, he clerked for two justices on the Supreme Court of Texas. He later practiced law at Baker Botts in Houston.

Throughout his career, Judge Brown has remained committed to professionalism, integrity, and public service. Judge Brown and his wife, Susannah, are parents of three grown children and remain engaged in the Galveston County community.
