Founded in 1846, the Galveston County Bar Association is the oldest local bar association in Texas and served as a model for the creation of the State Bar of Texas.
The Galveston County Bar Association is a nonprofit organization of attorneys who practice in Galveston County, Texas. The association offers its members monthly luncheon meetings, professional networking, continuing legal education, and charitable and community service events.
Its purposes are to advance legal professionalism, promote the legal profession, and promote community service.
The Galveston County Bar Foundation was established in 2005 as the charitable arm of the association and operates as a 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation solicits charitable contributions and provides funding to enhance the rule of law and the system of justice in Galveston County, especially for programs that relate to the administration of justice, ethics in the legal profession, legal assistance for the needy, legal research and public forums, and legal education for the public.
A tax-deductible contribution is one way members, the public, businesses, and other foundations can support that work. Gifts may honor a person or mark an anniversary, birthday, or other occasion. Memorial gifts should include the name of the person who should receive an acknowledgment. Gifts may be designated for a specific project or left for the Foundation leadership to use where the need is greatest.
Donations are made by mail. They are not collected on this website.
